We have been blessed with a great start to the season with light wind and an unlimited amount of sun it seemed. The fish were a little temperamental leading up to the full moon in June but targeting the smaller “greenies” in large groups was the ticket to getting the bite. The green ocean going males that have a black edge to their tails consistently bite better than the rest of the fish before their spawn or full moon in June. Doing your best to not spook the lead fish and fishing back in the school has been proven time after time. It seemed as much as we switched flies we still ended up with ole’ faithful, black and purple. We will continue to see fish beach side through the month of July and they bite really, really good. The numbers are beginning to fade but can still be worth your time if you have the patience. Thank you to everyone for another amazing season and I hope to see all of you next year!
