October has always been a phenomenal month to fish because the days are shorter and even though we may not experience a “temp change,” the fish begin to make their transition. Since the days are shorter and the nights become longer, the water will naturally begin to cool slowly and this is what triggers a great bite. Tarpon fishing has still remained strong but the numbers of fish are going down. Snook have been on fire with the abundance of Atlantic menhaden coming out of the freshwater estuaries. Tripletail have been an exception by-catch while tarpon fishing!!!
