In the month of August, it’s hot, humid, rains almost every day on a clock, and the tarpon fishing is outstanding at night. Through the next couple of months most of my time will be spent at night targeting tarpon, snook, and anything else that might show up which could include tripletail, cobia, black drum, redfish and trout. Throwing flies that imitate shrimp and scaled sardines have been proven time after time.
Permit fishing has become a new found addiction when the tarpon fishing slows down on the beach. It’s very unique to our area with a fly rod and is something I’ll be silently promoting.
